Driver USB genérico para Windows 98 SE
Existe uma alternativa para quem não consegue fazer funcionar sua pen drive no Windows 98 SE, mas observe que foi testado somente na versão "Second Edition" do Windows 98 English.
- Remova todos os drivers existentes de memória flash USB disponíveis no sistema;
- Instale o programa Maximus Decim Native USB ver.2.2;
- Após a instalação do programa, copie o arquivo USBSTOR.INF e cole na pasta WINDOWS\INF, substituindo o arquivo antigo. Faça isso através do Windows Explorer e observe que "WINDOWS\INF" é uma pasta oculta, portanto, ative a exibição de pastas ocultas no sistema;
- Plugue sua pen drive na porta USB. Se tudo correr bem o processo de reconhecimento do novo dispositivo iniciará e será finalizado com sucesso.
O autor do driver "génerico" não se responsabiliza por eventuais problemas que a instalação possa causar no seu sistema operacional, faça a instalação por sua conta e risco, porém, o autor está tendo um "feedback" positivo dos usuários que utilizaram o driver. Confira aqui.
